Beat the Computer Project

Assembly Instructions:

Place a check mark in each box after you complete the instructions.

Copy template from page two of handout and draw on your board.
Following all safety instructions drill holes numbered 1- 4 and LOSE using a 3/16" drill bit. Countersink these holes on the back side.
Drill COMPUTER and YOU holes with a 3/32" bit. Drill all holes for nails on front side of board using a nail in the drill.
Number all nail holes and light holes on both sides of the wood.
Put your name on the back side of the project.
Place the 20 nails in the numbered holes on the front of the board. They should be sticking out halfway through the back.
Nail the 13 nails on the back side for the bus line, COMPUTER lead, YOU lead and the resistor.
Following instructor’s directions connect and solder wires between the nails as indicated by the schematic diagram.
Solder the YOU and COMPUTER leads onto correct nails.
Solder the Battery clip red wire to the YOU nail and the black wire to the resistor nail.
Install LED’s in holes. Connect the leads from the LED’s to the correct nails.
Place 9V battery in Battery clip and check to see if the computer works.
